Dr Zhai graduated from University of Otago, New Zealand in 2009. He had exposure to a wide range of neurological diseases in Auckland and Dunedin before he embarked on neurology specialist training in Australia. He gained further expertise in general neurology and neurophysiology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Calvary and Canberra Hospitals.
In addition to his broad interest in all general neurological presentations, Dr Zhai has a special focus on the overlap conditions of neurology and immunology. These include multiple sclerosis and other immune-mediated brain and nerve diseases. He has an ongoing involvement in clinical research in general neurology and focus areas.
Dr Zhai is a Consultant Neurologist at Calvary Public Hospital and Clinical Lecturer at Australian National University. He has received multiple accolades for his teaching at tertiary institutions in Australia and New Zealand.
